Accordionist needed to play Eastern European music - Experience not essential
We are a 4 piece Glasgow band who play songs and instrumentals from Eastern Europe, including Jewish Klezmer and some Polish and Russian folk songs. We also play a bit of Tango and Swing. An accordionist is essential to this sound, and we recently lost ours.
We'd love to hear from anyone who is interested, or knows someone who might be. We don't expect any experience in any of these traditions, just an interest in playing it. We all started from scratch with playing this type of music, so you wouldn't be far behind us!

Metal lead vocalist needed, (Not screamo or metal core) (Glasgow)
Hey there, I'm lead guitarist representing a band formerly named friction, but the name has been changed temporarily to reflections in steel until we have a lead vocalist then we will use something better or maybe even keep the name, who knows.
We are made up of two guitarists, a bassist and a drummer aged 17 - 18, we don't care how old our vocalist is, as long as he can sing, we may seem like novices to music from only being 18 years old, we have put together some pretty complex and half decent songs and has more than just power chords like most metal music these days is made up of. We have tried out many vocalists in the past but those who could sing lacked commitment. We write our own music and we have five songs pretty much finished, and another four in the making. We write our own music to our own style (musically we're probably mostly similar to Iron Maiden/ Avenged Sevenfold City of Evil era if you want to compare), the vocals get pretty gruff and heavy at points but also in calmer songs we're looking for a voice that can also be melodic. So naturally, we're looking for a male vocalist for the tone we need.
It's been a nightmare trying to find the type of vocalist we need because the majority of metal vocalists our age do all that metal core stuff. So if you read this and think you fit the bill, message back and we'll get you in for a try-out during practice, we practice 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM in Glasgow Thursday nights..

Singers and bands wanted for Live and Unsigned 2012 auditions!
Singers and bands are wanted as Live and Unsigned 2012 auditions start early January! With the chance to play at The O2 in London and with £100,000 in prizes, Live and Unsigned auditions are set to attract thousands of unsigned singers and bands when auditions begin in January 2012. The competition has also just announced an additional new main cash prize of £10,000 for the winning act to spend on their development. Live and Unsigned auditions are heading to Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow on Saturday 18th February!
Singers and bands to be filmed
A new addition to the competition in 2012 is that it will also be filmed for a new music series to be broadcast on Sky TV; a fly-on-the-wall music series on Live and Unsigned has given acts another reason to enter the competition! The documentary music series airing next year on Sky TV, will give an insight into what goes on behind the scenes of the Live and Unsigned competition.

I'm a versatile guitarist, been playing for over ten years, mostly acoustic folk, blues and rock. Have done busking nights and some gigs, have car and space to practice.
I'm keen to join or form a band as i'm getting bored playing on my own, Ceilidh band, folk or rock band, anything considered. I love alternate tunings such as dadgad and open g so a lot of my playing is fingerstyle and not so much lead solos but I also play in standard tuning doing 3 chord bashers/covers etc and would make a reasonable rhythym guitarist. I do have a couple of decent guitars and a 60w amp. My vocals are not too bad but not sure that i'd make a lead vocalist!
I love most kinds of music and am keen to get involved in something, especially playing live. I also play harmonica a little bit and have played conga drums in a previous band doing jazz ska stuff which was great fun.

Live and Unsigned auditions coming to a venue near you!
With the chance to play at The O2 in London and with £100,000 in prizes and, Live and Unsigned is set to attract thousands of unsigned musicians when auditions begin in January. The competition has also just announced an additional new main cash prize of £10,000 for the winning act to spend on their development.
Add to that the prospect of festival slots across the UK and the world and it's clear to see that Live and Unsigned is THE competition for aspiring bands and acts to enter in the New Year. There are festival slots in Canada, Italy, Latvia and Dublin up for grabs for the best unsigned acts in the countrythat make it to the Grand Final at The O2, which is incorporated into Live Fest, London's biggest indoor festival.
Live and Unsigned is the UK's biggest unsigned music competition for original artists and it's open to all genres. Jazz Drummer Wanted in Edinburgh
We are an Edinburgh-based jazz quartet looking for a new drummer. We have built a large repertoire over the last 2.5 years including our own arrangements of jazz standards, modern jazz, and some original compositions. This year we've done half-a-dozen paid gigs; a mix of restaurants, private parties, and festival gigs.
We are aiming for bigger and more frequent gigs and are in the process of building a band image, with a new website in development.
We all have professional day jobs, our ages range 34 up to 54. We take our music seriously and aim for a high standard of musicianship. All of us average ten hours practice per week. The line-up is piano, alto saxophone, and electric bass.
For your part, you should know the standard jazz repertoire (as found in the Real Books etc.), be able to read charts, know how to play with sensitivity/have a good dynamic range, and have your own transport. Ideally, you'd be interested in writing and arranging and have contacts for gigs. We expect you to be able to rehearse every 4 weeks in normal circumstances and weekly when you start.

Wesley is offering bass tracking services to anyone who is in need of a fitting bass line for a recording. Combing his audio engineering experience with his musical talent, he will create a clean, distortion-free bass track fitting for your song. All files will be transmitted over the internet, so it does not matter if you live in Memphis, Los Angeles, London, or Tokyo.

What are the sound/tonal options?
Wesley can record your bass line on:
-Electric bass (plucked, picked, or slapped, with active or passive electronics, round wound or flat wound strings, depending on whether you need a vintage or modern sound)
-Upright/String/Double bass (Arco or Pizzicato... Bowed or plucked)
-Electric Upright Bass
-Fretless Bass
-Acoustic Bass Guitar
-Additionally, you will be provided with multiple tracks for a recording if desired, such as a microphone and pickup for an upright bass recording, or a direct line and miked amp for an electric bass.
Who will come up with the bass line?
Wesley will accommodate your needs, whatever they might be. If you already have a bass line written, it will be recorded note for note. Just send the sheet music or an audio version (played on piano, keyboard, guitar, tuba, flute, or whatever else).
If you do not have a bass line in mind, Wesley will come up with something fitting for the song. Send a lead sheet if you have one, but it is not necessary.
How much does it cost?
$100 for the first song, $75 for each additional song in a project. This includes one "redo" per song. If you do not like the first track that is submitted to you, it will be re-tracked once at no additional charge.
A project in this case is based on how the number songs submitted in an inquiry.
What if the bass track is not up to par?
Simple enough. You do not pay for it. Here's how it works. You submit an audio file of your song , and Wesley will record the bass line. He will send a stereo audio file of your song back to you with the bass track included. The bass track will be a little loud in the mix with the dual purposes of allowing you to hear what it sounds like before purchasing, but also protecting Wesley from non-payment, as the track will be un-useable in a final mix. Once the bass line is approved, you will submit your payment, and a high quality version of the bass track will be sent out. If you requested separate tracks for one bass line (direct and miked, for example), they can be sent separately, or mixed.

New wedding band require drummer and female singer
:We currently have guitar, keys and bass (all with backing vocals) and are looking for a new female singer and drummer to finalise the line up and get working asap.
Singer: Preferably someone with experience in wedding and corporate bands but anyone with a good image, a strong voice that can handle mainly up-tempo songs and be a front person with good crowd interaction as well as a good vocalist will be considered.
Drums: Again, anyone with experience in a wedding / corporate band setting is an advantage. Having your own kit is a must. At the minute we're not planning on using samples but in case we do down the line, being able to play to a click will be an advantage.
Own transport would be preferred
The right attitude and commitment is a must. You will be expected to do your homework at home, rehearsals are for putting the songs together, not working them out.
We're planning on being a party band first and foremost so we're not planning on getting too self indulgent with the set list and if you don't want to play 9 to 5, ABBA and the kind of stuff a successful wedding band has to play, then this is not the band for you.
We have our own studio unit just outside the city centre that we have access to most of the week, we have the ability to record there and we have our own PA.
This is a serious project and only for someone who not only has the ability but also the drive and attitude to make it work, it's a business after all and should be looked at as such.

Looking for a Gypsy Guitarist and others in Edinburgh September
I'm planing to do a short gig - 1.5 hours - as some pre conference entertainment on Thursday 15th September. rather than use backingtracks I thought I'd see if there were any gypsy jazz guitarist in Edinburgh who fancied joining me. Just playing the usual - easy - Djanog standards. There almost no money - well it is a charity event after all - but there will be a few beers and travel expenses. Glasgow - Drummer wanted for indie rock band
Indie Rock band from Fort William Russian Ninjas with a good fanbase and already made songs moving to Glasgow in the next few weeks and looking for a new drummer.
Drummer must mainly be committed! but able to play slow beats aswell as fast, be creative with their playing and bring their own touch to our sound! but also good banter haha

Female lead singer wanted for function band
Our present lead singer is leaving in a few month's ( going to have a baby).
We are a Glasgow based band who cover Scotland, weddings and functions and we are looking for a replacement, We are looking for someone with a good vocal range reliable outgoing personality and not shy and wiling to practice,we practice weekly updating our set list.
